Jan is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Certified Associate Counselor–Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD), dedicated to supporting healing, growth, and transformation. She believes in the power of a trusting therapeutic relationship and is known for creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly heard, supported, and empowered to work through their challenges and pursue lasting emotional wellness.

 

Since joining our team, Jan has made countless contributions to both our program and the clients we serve. Her clients consistently speak highly of her deep ability to connect, offering the kind of empathy and guidance that make a meaningful difference in their lives.

 

Jan works with children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, substance use disorders, and interpersonal difficulties. Her approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and holistic, integrating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. She is especially passionate about the mind-body connection and its role in emotional and psychological healing.

 

Jan earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from Towson University and her Master's degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Community Care and Counseling at Liberty University. Her professional journey began in education, where she served in Baltimore City and Carroll County Public Schools for over a decade, providing both behavioral interventions and school counseling services. Motivated by a desire to support individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, Jan later specialized in substance use treatment and now brings that expertise to a diverse client population.

 

Jan is experienced in working with individuals from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and offers individual and family counseling. Her deep commitment to making a meaningful impact is evident in every aspect of her work.
