Addiction Counselor Trainee

Rebecca Rigney is a dedicated and compassionate Addiction Counselor Trainee with a strong commitment to helping individuals navigate the challenges of recovery. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Penn State University and is actively pursuing her Certified Associate Counselor–Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) credential to further strengthen her expertise.

With over seven years of experience in the behavioral health field, Ms. Rigney has developed a deep understanding of substance use disorder treatment and crisis intervention. In recent years, she has worked as a Peer Recovery Specialist, adding valuable perspective and depth to her clinical practice. She also has specialized training in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, cultural competency, and resilience-building strategies. Her counseling style is holistic and person-centered, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can grow and heal.

Ms. Rigney works with both adolescents and adults, tailoring interventions to meet each individual’s unique needs. By blending evidence-based practices with compassion and empathy, she strives to empower clients to build resilience and achieve lasting positive change.

Outside of her work, Ms. Rigney enjoys spending time with her partner and their two sons, exploring new culinary experiences, walking her dog, and relaxing with music and podcasts.

With her experience in addiction counseling and peer recovery support, she brings both expertise and heart to her work.
