Kristy Johal, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner



 

Kristy Johal is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who provides compassionate, comprehensive mental health care to individuals of all ages. As the Medical Director of Kindred Treatment Center, Kristy not only leads with clinical excellence but also empowers both clients and staff to thrive.

 

Kristy began her academic journey at Lynchburg College in Virginia, earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing, and went on to complete her master’s degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing at the University of Delaware. Early in her nursing career, Kristy worked in pediatric intensive care, where she discovered her passion for behavioral health. This experience shaped her commitment to supporting adults & children through life’s most challenging moments with empathy and expertise.

At Kindred Treatment Center, Kristy is dedicated to developing personalized treatment plans that combine evidence-based pharmacologic interventions with a deep respect for each client’s unique needs and goals. She has a special interest in anxiety, depression, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and substance use disorders.

 

Kristy takes time with every client to provide thorough psychoeducation and explore all available treatment options, ensuring they feel informed, empowered, and confident in the care they receive. Her goal is to partner with clients on their journey toward mental wellness and help them achieve the quality of life they truly deserve.
