SUD Counselor
Amber holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology- Crisis Counseling from Liberty University and is nearing completion of her MS in Addiction Counseling through Grand Canyon University. She is currently working toward her CAC-AD credential in Maryland and will return to GCU after internship to complete a second master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus on grief and trauma.
She brings a steady compassionate presence to her work and values clear communication, ethical care, and practical strategies that support long-term change. Amber works with clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and navigate the complex systems surrounding behavioral health. Her clinical style is grounded in evidence-based approaches, and she most often draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing when supporting individuals working through substance use and co-occurring challenges.
For clients who desire it, Amber incorporates faith-based perspectives into treatment, drawing on her strong foundation in spiritually informed counseling approaches. She is committed to creating a supportive, respectful environment where individuals feel understood, empowered, and actively involved in their healing process.
