Aleeya Brooks Ferguson

Clinical Intern

Aleeya is a dedicated mental health professional who is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and achieve emotional well-being. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Baltimore, with a focus on child and adolescent development. Aleeya is currently enrolled at Cornerstone University, pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Trauma Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.

Aleeya's background includes more than four years of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experience supporting children and families with developmental disabilities. She also has experience in crisis counseling and crisis management, helping individuals through emotionally challenging circumstances. Aleeya's clinical experience extends to those navigating anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, trauma, relationship challenges, ADHD, single parenting, and other family dynamics. Meeting people where they are allows her to draw on a range of experiences in her therapeutic approach, integrating trauma-focused care, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strategic, solution-focused interventions.

Aleeya believes in supporting clients’ overall well-being and staying mindful and present with their unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. When working with individuals, couples, and families—particularly those navigating developmental disabilities—she strives to create a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment. Above all, she aims to foster hope, promote healing, and empower clients to thrive in their lives.

Kindred is thrilled to welcome Aleeya to the team for her internship and beyond. Aleeya is currently accepting new clients. If you would like to schedule an appointment with her, please contact us!
