Kindred Treatment Center
Bridging the gap to healing: Comprehensive Behavioral Health Services

Mary Leonard, ADT, CAM I
Counselor
Mary joins Kindred Treatment Center with a fantastic blend of experience and passion in the field of behavioral healthcare. Having worked and directed several different levels of care, Mary has the ability and understanding to meet people where they are, and utilize their strengths as well as hers, to plan and provide a solid foundation for recovery.

In addition to Mary's experience working directly with patients, she also has a keen sense of leadership, organization, and drive to assist KTC staff and patients in reaching their full potential. Mary has had a variety of educational training and has worked in many environments. First attending Montgomery County Community College for an associates in art education, Mary primarily worked in the Frederick County Public School system with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. While attending the University of Maryland, Mary obtained her Bachelors of Science in Psychology, Summa Cum Laude.
Mary then attended Walden University for a Masters in clinical mental health counseling, and is currently aiming to complete her forensics specialization by 2025. In 2022, Mary became a Nationally recognized Certified Anger Management Specialist.
Mary is local to Carroll County and spends her personal time gardening, doing yoga, and traveling with her husband and 2 children. Mary also has two very special dogs, and two special horses. Mary still rides and teaches, after spending 15 years competing in equestrian events at the international level.
We are so fortunate to have Mary leading our new addiction treatment program and look forward to all of her success.
