Alexis Urbanik, LMSW

Alexis is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a strong passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from York College of Pennsylvania and went on to receive her Master’s in Social Work from Millersville University.

Alexis began her career with three years of experience at York County Children and Youth Services, where she developed a deep understanding of the impact of trauma on children and families. This experience inspired her to pursue a more direct and therapeutic role in supporting others on their healing journey.

Over the past three years, Alexis has gained valuable clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples across various settings, including private practice, outpatient care, and a psychiatric residential treatment facility for youth.

She is passionate about supporting children, teens, young adults, and families using evidence-based practices tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Alexis has experience treating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder, reactive attachment disorder (RAD), family conflict, anger management, and trauma-related issues.

Her therapeutic approach draws from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Structural Family Therapy (SFT), and psychoeducation. With her younger clients, Alexis often incorporates play, art, and creative activities like worksheets to help them express themselves and engage in the therapeutic process.

Alexis is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered, understood, and equipped to reach their personal goals. She is thrilled to be part of the Kindred family and looks forward to connecting with new clients.
